Gulliver's New Adventures
It's time to rename the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum into a philosophical one. Well, in fact: there are less and less business and business ideas every year, but the philosophical and ideological component swells by leaps and bounds. Caught up and, perhaps, has already surpassed the economic one. Moreover, not only the number, but also the skill of thinkers is growing. They know how to bend this… Yes, take at least the speech of the philosopher Dugin — it's just some kind of holiday! Some kind of feast of the spirit.

Alexander Gelievich's speech delivered at the session of the forum «Horizon-2040: Russia on the World Map» is so large-scale, expressive, so full of meanings that one cannot retell, much less comment on this grandiose verbal canvas within the framework of a newspaper article , alas, it is not possible.
Therefore, we will focus on that part of the reflections that has, so to speak, applied significance. «We need … to make a breakthrough into the future based on tradition,» the philosopher teaches us. Futuro-villages. Space sense. Perhaps, such in the form of airships there, in the form of UAVs».
All clear? Well, what do you want? That's what philosophy is for: not every mortal can understand. And let it be a shame to those who say that there is nothing to understand. Slanderous fabrications are fought back at once. After all, the topic of de-urbanization of Russia captured the philosopher far from yesterday.
Here, for example, is a post on his telegram channel dated December 16 last year: “To solve the demographic problem of Russia with one blow, you just need to move from Modern to Tradition at once. And that’s all. many children. Divorces — let alone abortions! — will be banned. There won't be any. You can't and that's it. Married — be kind and live to death. Before you had to think.
For fornication — a fire. theft — hanging. For blasphemy against the Tsar — eternal penal servitude. And only the thin rumble of banner chants over Holy Russia. Without end and edge. «World Glory …» Black arrows of monastic processions.
The quiet, tense sniffing of the plowman and the snoring of a stately well-fed horse. The piercing smell of fresh milk in the mist.Water and bread.A donkey and a bull.
And dance figures of the Russian sun. Squads and families, regiments and villages. And the King! For everyone to be happy and at peace. Bold and fun…»
We admit, I wanted to shorten the quote, but my hand did not rise. How, tell me, to cut such beauty ?! Lepota. But it is impossible not to see that for half a year the philosopher's ideas about a bright future have undergone some development. And not the fact that the concept has become better. Instead of the plowman's sniffling, horse snoring and the hum of chants, the philosopher now hears the roar of the spaceport, the buzz of airships and other aircraft.
That is, if we literally take the flow of Dugin's wisdom, now we are talking not about ordinary, but about flying settlements. And we have already gone through this somewhere … Ah! Here: “I looked with indescribable surprise at an island floating in the air, inhabited by people who, it seemed to me, could control it at their own discretion … Vast galleries stretched along the edges of the island, located in ledges … On the lowest gallery stood and several people were sitting; some of them were fishing with long rods, while others were watching this fishing.
For those who have forgotten: this is a quote from Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift — the hero's first acquaintance with the flying island of Laputo. There would be no complaints if Mr. Dugin did not call day and night to tear any threads linking Russia with the West. Here there is a roll call with the Western cultural tradition. A kind of «Gulliver's New Adventures». Of course, we do not dare to accuse the eminent philosopher of servility and plagiarism. But surely there will be evil people who will throw this stone at him.
Thank God, the imitation is partial: the airship is not a flying island. Which, on the one hand, is good, but on the other, so-so. Much less comfort. As one of the network commentators rightly noted: «It seems to me that it will be inconvenient to increase the demographics in the airship, the walls are thin and it sways, it will knock down the rhythm.»
In principle, for the sake of comfort and demographics, accusations of intellectual secondary nature can be neglected. Walk so walk, Laputa so Laputa. In addition, according to Dugin, the implementation of this project will not pose any technical difficulties. After all, gravity, says the philosopher, «is a Western invention,» which we should not recognize. Here is his verbatim statement on this subject, made a little earlier: «There is no gravity! If you are spiritual enough, you should fly! Man is the brother of an angel in fact. If you eat less and pray more, you will take off. What gravity!» .
In general, there is more to think about. It is difficult to advise a giant of thought, but still let's take a chance: isn't it better, isn't it more rational to return to the original version — with plowmen, horses and round dances? So it will be cheaper for the budget, and there is much less risk of ending up in a house of sorrow. Unfortunately, there are still narrow-minded people in our country (including among doctors of the corresponding medical profile) who perceive such a flight of thought as a deviation from the norm.
As for the usual «settlement of cities», then everything is in order. This is not fantasy at all: this bold plan has already been put into practice once — in a distant tropical country. At the same time, it is known for sure: neither the developers nor the implementers of the plan ended up in a psychiatric hospital. True, they fell under the tribunal — for genocide against their own people. But that, as they say, is another story.
And let those who will start accusing Dugin of imitation shut up. Well, yes, imitation. But this time not to the West, but to the East, and this is not only not forbidden today, but even welcomed. In addition, this experience was made in a country that was in something similar to our situation, which challenged the entire Western, «imperialist» world. However, that country, or rather those who ruled it at that time, went even further — they renounced not only Western civilization, but also civilization as such.
Well, enough mysteries: we are talking, of course, about Cambodia, renamed after the victory of the Khmer Rouge in the civil war into Democratic Kampuchea. «Cleansing the cities» was the first thing they did when they seized upon complete control over the country.
It looked like this (Dmitry Mosyakov, «History of Cambodia. XX century»): «Many surviving eyewitnesses recall complete confusion that reigned in the city (the capital of Cambodia Phnom Penh. — «MK») during the eviction, when thousands of people under the scorching sun and at gunpoint moved along the roads leading north, southwest and east of Phnom Penh, i.e. in the territory military administrative zones, whose troops occupied the capital…
Sick and unable to move people were killed; students who wore glasses or T-shirts with Latin letters were shot… Soon the road was literally strewn with corpses, which began to decompose rapidly under the bright rays of the sun. Nobody removed them.»
In a word, an interesting, instructive experience. Although from the point of view of demographics it is rather negative: the number of victims of the genocide organized by the Khmer Rouge reaches three million. Not if Dugin with his inherent his philanthropy and his like-minded admirers, who, they say, are already quite a few in the structures of power, will certainly be different, but this is not certain. «That's right: you give me flying islands and dirigible villages! That's right, much more harmless. Dreaming — if it's empty dreams that do not imply the realization of dreams — is never harmful for anyone at all. Well, if dreams take you too far, then this one, that is, sorry, this feast of the spirit is perfectly cured today.
