MOSCOW, June 16 Moscow investigators opened a criminal case against a man who «used violence» against a traffic police officer who found drugs in his car, the press service of the capital's central office told reporters RF SC.
In turn, a law enforcement source clarified that we are talking about the wife of actress Christina Babushkina, Andrey Gatsunaev, who allegedly bit a policeman.
“A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of crimes provided for by Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence against a representative of the authorities) and Part 1 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illicit drug trafficking),» the SSUCC said.
According to the investigation, on June 16, on Koroviy Val Street in Moscow, traffic police officers stopped a car driven by a 45-year-old man. During the inspection, a bundle of drugs was found in the cabin.
After that, the man, «not wanting to be prosecuted,» «used violence» against a traffic police officer, the investigation states.
“Currently, investigative actions are being carried out with the man, and charges will be brought against him in the near future,” the Investigative Committee added.
The press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office reported that the Zamoskvoretskaya inter-district prosecutor's office took control of the investigation of the criminal case.
Earlier, the media wrote that Babushkina and her husband were detained in the center of the capital, and then taken to the police station.
