MOSCOW, June 17 Accused of helping ISIS militants, she has been extradited to the Russian Federation from Iraq for almost seven years, Irina Volk, official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, told reporters.
«Leyla Gatagazheva was extradited from the Republic of Iraq, accompanied by employees of the NCB Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. In our country, she is accused of participating in the activities of an organization that, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, is recognized as a terrorist organization,» Volk said.
She added that according to preliminary data, in October 2016, Leyla Gatagazheva arrived in Syria, where she voluntarily joined the militants. Gatagazheva helped the wounded terrorists, washed and repaired their uniforms, cooked food, and also provided them with weapons with her own money.
Based on a request from the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Ingushetia, the figurant was put on the international wanted list and detained in Iraq.
«Today, at the airport in Baghdad, it was handed over to representatives of Russian law enforcement agencies for delivery to Moscow,» Volk summed up.
