Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko said that in total, 106 residents of different regions were poisoned with the alcoholic drink «Mister Cider», 36 of them died. His words, spoken on the sidelines of the SPIEF, are reported by RIA Novosti.
As Murashko clarified, five children were among the victims, one minor died. To this day, 19 people remain in hospital.
In early June, people across Russia began to die from poisoning with the Mister Cider brand. The Investigative Committee opened a case under the article on the provision of services that do not meet security requirements (part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code). The court arrested the founder of the Andi company, which supplied alcohol.
In addition, Ivan Grebenkin, a security official, was detained in Samara, who helped steal six tons of methyl alcohol from the warehouse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which would later be used to make Mister Cider. Dmitry Egorov from Samara was also detained, who participated in the theft with his father Alexei.
