< br />IRKUTSK, June 18 At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Irkutsk region signed agreements with a total investment of over 800 billion rubles, Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev told reporters.

"Our delegation has completed its work at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. I would like to outline the main results. We signed 23 agreements, 7 of them with a total investment of 841 billion rubles,» Kobzev said.
The most ambitious was the signing of a trilateral agreement on cooperation in the implementation of the project to create the Federal Center for Chemistry in the city of Usolye-Sibirskoye. The Center will provide the most important solutions in the development of small-tonnage and medium-tonnage chemistry, including for types of products that are not currently produced in Russia, and will also contribute to strengthening social stability in the region. A management company has already been established — OOO Federal Center of Chemistry Usolye-Sibirskoye.
In addition, on the sidelines of the SPIEF, agreements were signed on the construction of a transmission and gearbox plant in the Irkutsk Region, on the creation of an agricultural products distribution center, on the formation of an industrial complex for the production of electrical equipment and a center of technological competencies, and others.
The head of the Angara region also noted that among the signed agreements there are 5 interregional agreements with the heads of the Lipetsk, Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Voronezh regions and St. Petersburg. According to Igor Kobzev, each region with which the Irkutsk region has signed a cooperation agreement has its own strengths, the possibilities of creating joint projects are being considered, including to increase the tourist flow through the development of new air routes, the development of innovative infrastructure and others.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum has been held annually since 1997. During this time, it has gained the status of the world's leading platform for discussing key issues of the global economy. In 2023, SPIEF was held under the motto «Sovereign development is the basis of a just world. Let's unite our efforts for the sake of future generations».
