Kirill Budanov
Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kirill Budanov on Tuesday, June 20, appeared live on Ukrainian television. This is Budanov's first appearance on television since reports of his severe injury.
On footage taken in a room that looks like an office, the head of Ukrainian military intelligence assured that all reports of his death are untrue — «fakes that's why there are fakes», which he perceives «with a grin».
Budanov also assured that everything is fine with him.
Previously, there were messages citing an informed source that that Budanov was seriously wounded on May 29 during a Russian attack on a departmental building. The source claimed that after that the head of the GUR was transferred to Poland, from there to Germany for treatment. At the same time, the Western media pointed to the lack of evidence that Budanov was alive and well.
However, on June 19, the Ukrainian media published a message on behalf of Budanov, which said that «a special detachment of immortal commanders is being created in Ukraine.»< /p>
Following this, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova published several photos with Kirill Budanov on her social networks, accompanying them with the caption «Not a dummy, all participants in the meeting are alive and well.»
