KALININGRAD, June 23 The Kaliningrad region has a very high percentage of graduate employment, about 90%, universities train personnel purposefully for the business represented in the region, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko said during working visit to Kaliningrad.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, during his visit to the Kaliningrad region on Friday, held a working meeting with the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov and a meeting with the participation of the heads of digital transformation (DCT) of federal and regional ministries. The meeting also discussed the problems and prospects of the scientific and educational sphere and outlined the key tasks for the region in the coming years.
«In recent years, the Kaliningrad region has significantly advanced in the investment attractiveness rating and now occupies 11th place. The index of the physical volume of investments in the first quarter of 2023 in the region amounted to 158.4% — this is 5th place in Russia and 1st place in the North-Western Federal district,» Chernyshenko said.
He added that infrastructural budget loans were attracted for the creation of coastal tourism infrastructure and the reconstruction of treatment facilities in the center of the region.
«The subject plans to create 2 thousand jobs and attract 36 billion rubles of extra-budgetary investments. This is due, among other things, to the development of a special economic zone, which in 2021 was among the best in the world. Now companies from the most different industries,» Chernyshenko noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the region also discussed the problems and prospects of the scientific and educational sphere.
«The scientific and educational potential in the Kaliningrad region is growing primarily due to federal support measures, since the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University is the flagship university in the region, participating in almost all federal programs that are currently available. It is worth paying attention to that in the Kaliningrad region there is a very high percentage of employment of graduates — about 88%,» Chernyshenko emphasized.
According to him, this indicates that the correct model of interaction has been built between universities and employers in the region, and personnel are trained purposefully for the business that is represented in the Kaliningrad region.
