MOSCOW, June 23 The head of the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), Evgeny Dietrich, said that he was surprised by the slowness of the EU in imposing sanctions against him and associated them with the good pace of his work.
On Friday, the European Union approved the 11th package of sanctions against Russia, under which the general director of STLC, the former Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Dietrich, fell under personal sanctions. He is also under US sanctions.
«I am surprised at the slowness of the Europeans in this matter. For more than a year STLC has been under blocking sanctions from the EU, the US and the UK, while continuing to work for the benefit of domestic industry and transport. … The decision to impose personal sanctions indicates the good pace of my work. I will continue increase the role of STLC as an instrument for the development of the economy of the Russian Federation,» Dietrich said.
He recalled that the company is confidently increasing the volume of deliveries and successfully implementing government programs.
The company itself and its structures in 2022 came under blocking sanctions from the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom. This led to the virtual freezing of the business and accounts of GTLK Europe Capital DAC and GTLK Europe DAC, which accounted for 30% of the assets of the GTLK group of companies, which also led to difficulties in making payments on Eurobonds.
GTLK is federally owned under the control of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance. The company specializes in the leasing of railway and aviation equipment, and also leases automobile and road equipment, sea and river vessels.
