WASHINGTON, Jun 23 The US is not opposed to Indian oil purchases from Russia and hopes that it will continue to benefit from the Western-agreed «price cap,» said the strategic communications coordinator at National Security Council John Kirby.
«India should make its own sovereign decisions about oil purchases. We hope that we will continue to see them buy Russian oil at or below the ceiling price, as they did,» he said at a White House briefing.
The United States and its allies have agreed on a price cap of $60 per barrel, which exempts Russian oil from Western sanctions for shipments by sea.
