"In this difficult time for the life of our country, the leadership of the Russian Boxing Federation considers it necessary to declare its position, to turn to the boxing family, our partners and friends. We fully support the President of our country, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who appealed to the Russians to put aside all strife in this difficult period, when the future of our country and our people is being decided. We call on everyone to rally around the President of the Russian Federation and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,» the federation said in a Telegram channel statement.
«We are confident that in the near future the situation will normalize and the life of our society will return to normal. We call on the entire boxing community, the entire Russian people to remain calm and trust only official sources of information,» the message says.
The federation also noted the importance of unity in the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) mode. “We especially want to appeal to citizens living in regions where the counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced — these are Moscow, the Moscow and Voronezh regions, as well as residents of the Rostov and Lipetsk regions and the Krasnodar Territory. Do not succumb to provocations and comply with all legal requirements of law enforcement officials . Remember: unity is the main thing that is needed now,» emphasizes the Russian Boxing Federation.
On Saturday night in Rostov-on-Don, PMC «Wagner» seized the headquarters of the Southern Military District. Groups of armed people are moving around the city, checkpoints have been set up at the entrances and exits. This happened against the backdrop of statements by Yevgeny Prigozhin about allegedly inflicted by the Russian Armed Forces missile and bomb attacks on the camps of PMC «Wagner», which was refuted by both the Ministry of Defense and the FSB. A criminal case has been opened against Prigozhin for organizing an armed rebellion.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the actions of the rebels a criminal adventure, a stab in the back of Russia and a betrayal, which led to exorbitant ambitions and personal interests.
