MOSCOW, 25 Jun. Turkish Istanbulspor head coach Fatih Tekke said that the club had been negotiating with Russian goalkeeper Andrey Lunev.
Last season, the team finished 12th in the Turkish Championship, earning 41 points in 36 matches.
“Andrey Lunev was on our shortlist. We needed a goalkeeper, so we turned to this option. This guy played for three years at Zenit, then spent time at Bayer, but now, as far as I know, he has only recovered from a long-term injury,» Tekke told Sport24.
According to the specialist, negotiations with the player's side were led by the club's management.
«The parties did not agree on finances — we cannot sign expensive players with high salary requests,» — said the coach.
