MOSCOW, June 26 Belarus this year will almost restore the volume of exports of potash fertilizers and completely — oil products after the closure of the European market for these Belarusian markets amid sanctions goods, said Dmitry Krutoy, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia, in his first interview in office.
“Now, due to the fact that the sanctions have caused an increase, a sharp surge in prices for potash fertilizers in the face of a shortage in many traditional markets of this product, in terms of foreign exchange earnings, virtually all (export due to sanctions — ed.) volumes have already been compensated. In terms of physical work on deliveries is still ongoing. I think that this year we will reach the level of 80-90% of pre-crisis volumes in terms of tonnage,» Krutoy said.
He added that Minsk is also expecting a «full recovery» in oil products this year, for which he separately noted the help of the Russian market.
According to him, «taking into account the fact that the EU markets for (Belarusian — ed.) oil products and potassium are completely closed, now there are no supplies there at all, first of all, supplies are redirected to Asian countries». «We also expect an increase in deliveries to Africa… Now we are thinking about a logistics hub that could distribute fertilizers to the countries of the African continent,» Krutoy said.
He noted that this year Minsk expects a complete recovery of demand in Latin America, taking into account the search for new financial and logistics schemes.
