There was a fire in one of the buildings of the Rostov-on-Don Zoo, in connection with this, the evacuation of animals began. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Rostov region.
«The roof of the administrative building (museum) on an area of 300 square meters caught fire, animals are being evacuated,» the department specified. At the same time, the city administration claims that the fire covered 50 square meters.
According to the telegram channel “Che in Rostov?”, In the basement of the building there were terrariums with rodents, insects and other animals. Now they are being evacuated. The Ministry of Emergency Situations published a video showing rabbits and rats being taken out of the premises. One of the people caught on the recording says at the end: “All are alive.”
The fire was given the second rank, since there is no threat of its spread. It is still unknown about the injured and dead.
