Burmistrov said he was choosing between moving to the NHL and Spartak

KAZAN, June 27, Adela Ziatdinova. World champion with Russian national hockey team Alexander Burmistrov admitted that he was considering moving to the National Hockey League (NHL) this summer, but decided to move to Spartak Moscow.
In mid-May, Burmistrov signed a one-year contract with Spartak. Last season he played for Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
“There was an opportunity to leave for the NHL, but they weighed everything and decided to move to Moscow. The head coach of the Red-Whites, Alexei Zhamnov, was interested in my transition and therefore called me to Spartak,” Burmistrov, 31, told reporters.
Burmistrov won the 2018 Gagarin Cup with Ak Bars Kazan and won gold at the 2014 World Championship with Russia. 2018 for the Atlanta Thrashers, Winnipeg Jets, Arizona Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks.
