Kommersant, referring to the Saudi Al-Hadas TV channel, writes about the detention in Syria of several Wagner PMC commanders.
According to the report, the military police detained the head of the PMC branch in Al-Suweida in southern Syria, as well as three commanders at the Khmeimim airbase. It is also alleged that the police came to the offices of PMCs in Deir ez-Zor, Hama and Damascus.
The head of the PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, according to the statement of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, is currently in this country. During a large-scale speech on Tuesday, the Belarusian leader said that, according to his agreements with Prigozhin on June 24, in exchange for stopping the rebellion, Wagner fighters would be able to settle in Belarus, taking on the costs. Lukashenka said that they could be provided with unused military facilities, but they would not build separate camps. At the same time, he stated that he agreed with the opinion of the Minister of Defense Viktor Khrenin about the possible benefits of PMC fighters for the Belarusian army. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday morning that PMC members who had not committed crimes would be able to return home, either conclude a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense, or leave for Belarus.
On the morning of June 27, the FSB of the Russian Federation stated that relation to Prigozhin was terminated.
