The Barnaul garrison military court sentenced two servicemen who escaped from the unit to real terms. This was reported by the press service of the court.
Thus, Alexander Poltarakin was sentenced to six years in a penal colony, and serviceman Sergei Malyshev was sentenced to five years in a penal colony. Both of them were found guilty of leaving their place of service without permission (Article 337 of the Criminal Code).
According to the investigation, Poltarakin, called up for service as part of the mobilization, escaped from the unit twice. In early January, he did not return to service from vacation, later, having received a notification about the need to appear at the military authorities, he arrived at the military commissariat and again took up service. However, already in February, the man again arbitrarily left the unit and spent time at his discretion, in March a criminal case was opened against him.
Malyshev, as they say on the website of the court, was also called up for service as part of the mobilization. In December 2022, he arbitrarily left the military unit and spent time with his acquaintances. On February 10, the man found out that he was wanted, after which he himself came to the military prosecutor's office — as a result, a criminal case was opened.
In addition, the press service of the military court also reports on the sentence against contract soldier Azamat Baendinov — he was given a three-year suspended sentence under Article 337 of the Criminal Code. According to investigators, in January the man did not appear for the service within the period established by law, but later, in February, he voluntarily arrived at the military commissariat. When passing the sentence, the court took into account that Baendinov had participated in hostilities as a mitigating circumstance.
