The Ministry of Justice declared Paper and Sota.vision publications, as well as the founder of the Aquarium group, Boris Grebenshchikov, as «foreign agents». This was reported on the website of the department.
In addition, the list includes journalists Andrei Karaulov and Alexei Gorpinchenko, Moscow City Duma deputy Mikhail Timonov, deputy chairman of the Moscow Yabloko Andrei Morev, an autonomous non-profit educational organization Anglo-American School of Moscow, and a former chief rabbi Phillip Pinkhas Goldschmidt.
The reason for Grebenshchikov's inclusion in the register was that he opposed the war and organized concerts in support of Ukraine. Karaulov, Morev and Timonov, as well as Sota.vision and Paper, according to the Ministry of Justice, distributed materials from other “foreign agents.”
The Anglo-American School of Moscow, according to the department, “carried out activities to propaganda of LGBT relations”, while Gorpinchenko and Goldshmidt disseminated “inaccurate information about the decisions and policies made by the public authorities of the Russian Federation” and also opposed the invasion of Ukraine. In June 2022, it became known that Goldschmidt left Russia after the authorities demanded to publicly support the war in Ukraine.
