The return of Ukraine to the borders of 1991, as President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wants, was equated with being in the same state with the Russian Federation by Volodymyr Rogov, head of the We Are Together with Russia movement.

Responding to Zelensky’s plans to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the 1991 borders, Rogov, in an interview with TASS, said that the Ukrainian leader’s proposal for a diplomatic settlement could be discussed in this context.

He called the president’s initiative Ukraine “an excellent initiative” and explained: “because in 1991 we were in the same state, the capital of which was the city of Moscow.”

At the same time, Rogov added: “Here I agree with Zelensky, it’s time for us to leave to these borders.”

After the collapse of the USSR in 1991, Ukraine included Crimea, the DPR and LPR, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, which are now part of Russia.
