St. PETERSBURG, July 1 Investigating authorities in Karelia are checking after an accident with a tourist bus, where there are victims, reports the Republican SUSK RF in Telegram -channel.
A tourist bus got into an accident on Saturday afternoon in the Lahdenpohsky district of Karelia. It contained 41 people. According to MIA Media, the 47-year-old Neoplan bus driver drove into a ditch and overturned. As of 17:00, eight victims were hospitalized.
«»Investigators … following a report on a traffic accident involving a passenger bus that occurred on July 1 on a section of the road between the village Kurkieki and the village of Koyonsaari, a pre-investigation check has been organized,» the statement said.
It is noted that, according to preliminary data, the driver lost control while turning, the bus slid into a ditch and overturned. According to the department, four victims received medical assistance.
«Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, during the inspection, an assessment will be made of the actions of persons responsible for the safety of passenger transportation and the operation of public transport,» the agency points out.
