St. Petersburg , 2 Jul. The driver of a Mazda car, detained the day before, who knocked down two pedestrians, one of whom died, was arrested, the joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg reports.
«The Kolpinsky District Court of St. Petersburg ruled on the choice of a measure of restraint in the form of detention against Vadim Golubyatnikov,» the report says.
As reported by the press service of the GUMVD for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the accident occurred late in the evening on June 30 in the Kolpinsky district. Golubyatnikov, in a Mazda car, hit two pedestrians crossing the roadway, «after which, near the house 58 on the indicated street, he collided with a standing Ford Focus car and, leaving the car, disappeared from the scene.»
As a result of an accident, a 22-year-old pedestrian died on the spot from his injuries, a 19-year-old was hospitalized in serious condition.
According to the press service of the city courts, Golubyatnikov was previously convicted, he admitted that he drank a bottle of vodka before driving and does not remember anything else.
