Two explosions occurred in the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv. It was arranged by a fighter of the Sich volunteer battalion, Igor Gumenyuk, who was brought there to prolong his arrest, Judge Irina Frolova told the Grati publication.
The first explosion occurred at about 18:10, an hour later there was another explosion, the correspondent of «Grat» reports from the spot. According to Interior Minister Igor Klymenko, Gumenyuk allegedly blew himself up.
The building was cordoned off, and several people were carried out. According to Klymenko, two special forces officers who participated in the storming of the court were injured.
Gumenyuk spent almost eight years in a pre-trial detention center in the case of detonating a grenade during acceleration rally near the Verkhovna Rada in August 2015, which killed three soldiers of the National Guard, and injured more than 140 people.
According to Gumenyuk's lawyer Alexander Sviridovsky, he «wanted to fight», «applied more than once» to the judge to be sent to the front, and because of the refusals he had «two years as a depressed mood.»
