MOSCOW, July 5 Not in the Federation Council the ban for senators on the use of foreign phones, including iPhones, during closed meetings, all means of communication remain with the secretaries, Vyacheslav Timchenko, head of the procedural committee of the Federation Council, said on Wednesday.
Earlier, Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Head of the International Committee of the State Duma, said that communications from unfriendly countries, such as the iPhone, should be banned.
«The Federation Council does not ban senators from using iPhones,» Timchenko said. At the same time, he noted that he is a supporter of switching not only to telephones from friendly countries, but in priority — to domestic products, if there is appropriate equipment.
Timchenko also reminded that «during closed meetings in the Federation Council, all senators' phones remain with the secretaries.»
