Crimean Tatars urged Erdogan to send his representatives to the peninsula
Representative of the Crimean Interethnic Mission Zaur Smirnov urged the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to send his representatives to Crimea to get acquainted with the real life of the Crimean Tatars.
“The President of Turkey, at a meeting with Zelensky, again identified the Crimean Tatars with Ukraine, which has nothing to do with reality,” said Krymsko -Tatar public figure, referring to the meeting of politicians that took place the day before. “Mr. Erdogan should send his representatives to Crimea to get acquainted with the real life of the Crimean Tatars,” Smirnov said. “And then to make statements about it.”
The Crimean Tatars, as Smirnov emphasized, fought for their freedom all the years the peninsula was part of Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities refused to make a decision on the rehabilitation of the Crimean Tatars, and the Crimean Tatar language was not recognized as the state language, Smirnov noted.
