MOSCOW, July 7 The FAS has proposed raising regulated gas prices in Russia by eight percent from July 1 in 2024 and 2025, according to documents published on portal of draft regulatory legal acts.
“The change (wholesale gas prices. — Ed. note) will be planned and the first in a year and a half,” the Federal Antimonopoly Service noted.
The department explained that the funds will be spent on the social gasification of the regions and the construction of new pipelines. In addition, this will help implement repair and investment programs.
The Ministry of Energy explained the need for tariff indexation by saying that now more than 30 percent of Russian gas pipelines have been in operation for more than 40 years.
Before that, gas prices in Russia increased from December 1, 2022, also by 8.5 percent.
