MOSCOW, July 7 Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, responding to question about the suspension of American Jenson Brooksby, admitted that he once missed two doping tests, asapsports.com reports.
Earlier, the Tennis Aggression Authority (ITIA) charged 22-year-old Brooksby with whereabouts violations. He missed three doping tests in 12 months. Brooksby has accepted a temporary suspension and plans to go to ITIA arbitration.
«»I didn't see the details of the Brooksby case. But I heard from my coaches: he (Brooksby) says they knocked on the wrong door or something. I myself had two missed tests once. It was the first year after getting into the (anti-doping administration and management system) ADAMS. It's not easy. The two missed tests were a long time ago. I decided that I would not miss another one. It cannot happen that I miss another test. Since then, I don't think I missed a single one,» Medvedev said at a press conference during Wimbledon.
«Imagine that you are not married and decide to spend the night with your girlfriend, who is an hour away from your house, and decide at the last moment. Forget to change the time interval (for a doping test). One missed test — three can get pretty quickly,» the Russian added.
On Saturday, Medvedev will play in the third round of Wimbledon with the Hungarian Marton Fucovich.
