Requirements to store data for six months and provide the secret service with data, including addresses and order fulfillment times, were in the big law on taxi operation, adopted in December 2022 of the year. These provisions, as well as the main part of the law, will come into force on September 1, 2023.
The procedure for the FSB to apply for data to taxi services will be similar to the «organizers of the dissemination of information», which are also required to store and transfer user data to the special service. The ARI register includes social networks and other platforms where users can correspond in comments or chats. At the beginning of 2022, the Yandex Go taxi service was introduced there.
In addition to the order base, the amendments also introduce a list of reasons why a person may not be allowed to work in a taxi. Among them are outstanding convictions, previously withdrawn rights and unpaid fines.
