In Dagestan, a mobilized was assigned six years in prison for escaping from the front

The Makhachkala garrison military court sentenced mobilized Abdulmukmin Abdulkadyrov, who escaped from the front, to six years in a penal colony. The Kavkaz.Realii project drew attention to the publication of the decision.

In September 2022, Abdulkadyrov was mobilized for the war in Dagestan, in the city of Buynaksk. On November 25, his father called him at the front and told him that his pregnant girlfriend had recently been hospitalized and that she felt better in a couple of days. Mobilized with a colleague on the same day, «thrown in the trench the weapons and ammunition entrusted to them, they arbitrarily left the front defensive position.»

He got to Voronezh to his cousin, and from there he soon went to Dagestan to the girl. On February 1, Abdulkadyrov's father was informed by telephone from the military unit about his son's escape. Mukhtar Abdulkadyrov demanded that his son return, and a criminal case was opened against him for leaving a unit during mobilization (part 5 of Article 337 of the Criminal Code).

Abdulkadyrov previously served under contract in a unit near Boguchar, Voronezh Region, 50 km from border with Ukraine. After 2014, units of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army were transferred there. During his service, Abdulkadyrov was tried in 2020 because of a fake driver’s license, and in 2021, because he drank, under threat he took away a Zhiguli with documents from a colleague and went with friends to a karaoke bar in Boguchar. He was placed on probation for two years.
