
MOSCOW, 12 Jul. The Moscow City Election Commission registered Vladislav Davankov, Vice Speaker of the State Duma from the New People party, as a candidate for the post of mayor of the capital, the corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the commission on Wednesday.
As Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Electoral Committee Dmitry Reut noted, the documents submitted by Davankov for registration meet all the requirements of the electoral legislation.
«I have collected 114 signatures from 114 districts of the city of Moscow, therefore, having considered all the submitted documents, having carried out all the necessary verification steps, I propose to register Vladislav Andreevich Davankov for the position (candidate for mayor — ed.) Mayor of Moscow», — Reut said.
12 people put forward their candidatures for the post of mayor, six of them are self-nominated. As Deputy Chairman of the Moscow City Electoral Committee Dmitry Reut said earlier, all decisions on candidate registration will be made by July 17.
Only five candidates from parliamentary parties submitted documents for registration: current mayor Sergei Sobyanin, first deputy chairman of the faction of the Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth party Dmitry Gusev, deputy speaker of the State Duma from the New People party Vladislav Davankov, deputy Moscow City Duma from the Communist Party Leonid Zyuganov and Vice-Speaker of the State Duma from the Liberal Democratic Party Boris Chernyshov.
Earlier, on July 10, Sobyanin was registered as the first candidate by the Moscow City Election Commission.
Single voting day in 2023 in Russia is scheduled for September 10.
