In the village of Shaydurikha, Sverdlovsk Region, a 71-year-old woman died as a result of a forest fire that spread to village houses on July 12. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the head of the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Valery Gorelykh.
“The human remains were found in a burnt bathhouse. The employees of the criminal investigation department, with a high degree of probability, suggest that this is the mistress of the house, a resident of Verkhnyaya Pyshma Vera Gaiko, born in 1952, who, along with her husband, were in the country on the day of the emergency, ”said Gorelykh. Two more people, including the husband of the deceased, received burns.
The Investigation Department of Nevyansk opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code).
In total, 41 houses burned down in Shaydurikha, of which only 13, according to the authorities, were permanently inhabited by people, the rest of the buildings are dachas. In total, 35 people were left homeless. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported yesterday that 300 people were evacuated from Shaydurikha.
“Smoke was coming from the side of the lake for several days, but no fire was visible. At some point, I decided to take the children to a neighboring village. Collected documents. And when she returned, there was already an open fire,” a local resident told E1.RU.
“The wind changed in our direction, everything started to burn. There are so many cars, helicopters fly, as if rescuers were brought from all over the region. Initially, four fishing houses caught fire in the Nevyansk city district as a result of a forest fire that went through the tops of trees. The fire quickly spread to the village due to dry weather and wind gusts up to 27 meters per second. By the morning of July 13, firefighters localized the fire, and in the afternoon they eliminated open burning. Since yesterday, a state of emergency has been introduced in the district, it will remain in effect until July 21.
