MOSCOW, July 12 —, Anastasia Silkina. True friend of the midshipmen Gorin, investigator for especially important cases in the «Turkish March» and Richard III with a tragic fate — for fans, Alexander Domogarov is always different, but equally convincing. On his 60th birthday, the people's artist spoke in an interview about new roles on stage and in films, and also why he would not play them at a younger age.
Profession actor: about star fever
— Alexander Yurievich, have you at least once regretted becoming an actor?
— No, never. I can say in the heat of the moment: «Why do I need this? I'm tired of everything: nerves, shaking!» Time passes, and you understand: this is what you know how to do, what you love to do.
— You recently admitted that you suffered from star disease. What helped to get rid of it?
There is no vaccine for her. She visits all more or less successful. I see the prerequisites in some people and I can’t warn them, because you have to get over it. The main thing is to pull yourself together in time and tell yourself that this is a big mistake. «Asterisk» is progressing very much, mainly in the brain: a person is lost in space, begins to think that he is the navel of the earth.
—You run your own telegram channel. What gives you such a connection with the audience?
— I realized that you need to set certain milestones. What I'm wondering is what's going on. First there was Instagram (the activity of Meta, which owns the social network, is banned in Russia as extremist. — Note), it closed.
Then Facebook (also owned by Meta, banned in Russia. — Approx. ed.) — I did not lead it, but I liked to read it. For example, there my son Sasha learned from me the story of the dog in Vnukovo and took the film «Palma» as the basis (the shepherd dog was not taken on the flight with the owner, leaving it right on the airfield. — Approx. ed.).
Telegram, I appear because I want to know the opinion of the viewer, to understand whether I am going in the right direction. What aroused, what jarred, repelled or attracted.< br />
Anniversary: premiere at the Theater of the Russian Army and a creative evening
— Does something change in your acting game with age ?
— Certainly. You are more aware of what you are doing. You look at yourself more from the point of view of the correctness of the chosen way of expression.
Now we are rehearsing at Lermontov's Masquerade Theater of the Russian Army, and I understand what great monologues there are. It is impossible for a modern person to write something like this at the age of 20 — he does not have such a level of knowledge about life.
My great inner work is to convey to the viewer the beauty of poetry, the meaning and the tragedy of the image.
— Would you have taken on the role of Arbenin 10-20 years ago?
— All the roles came when they were supposed to come. You can’t play Arbenin at 40, like Juliet at 16. Paradoxical as it may seem. When you are young, it seems to you that you went out and played everything. You haven't played anything! And he just ticked the box that he went on stage and said the text. You cannot understand the psychology that drives a hero.
I fulfilled my mission when people came home and said: «What did Miloradovich do during the Patriotic War of 1812? Let me read» (the actor played the role of Count Miloradovich in film «Union of Salvation» — ed.).
— Lermontov wrote «Masquerade» at the age of 20. What, in your opinion, is the reason that now we do not see such a level of works by young authors?
— The inability to perceive the world in its global manifestations. People lived with other problems.
We are accustomed to the word «love», do not realize what it is. In the 1980s, they wrote love letters for many pages, trying to express something. Now — text messages.
Partly this is due to the fact that they do not read books, partly — education, partly — unwillingness to pay attention to it. But I am sure that parents who want to take care of their children born in love will say: «Here is a piece of paper, here is a pen. Please formulate a thought. And preferably in beautiful handwriting.»
— It is customary to say that enemies come to premieres. But «Masquerade» is scheduled at the Theater of the Russian Army on your birthday, which means you will play in front of your friends?
— I never call for premieres and I don’t go myself. Premieres should only be attended by doctors who will give you a sedative or take you to a madhouse. Regarding July 12, I explain: «Understand, it's damp. Everything will fall out of pockets, and this is normal.» But people write to me: «It's a holiday for us. We know it's not right, but we want to see it.»
— Why was the musical anniversary evening postponed until October?
— I realized that I can not combine the rehearsals of «Masquerade» with the vocal ones. I would like to change the repertoire a little and pay tribute to the memory of my parents, their youth — the 1930s-1950s.
— What song will the program definitely not do without?
— Without Rosenbaum : «And now fifty dollars have passed since childhood.»
Thirty years later: the return of the «Midshipmen» and the historical process
— In Autumn We are waiting for the premiere of two new parts of «Midshipmen». What is it like to return to the role of Pavel Gorin after 30 years?
— We read «Twenty Years Later» by Dumas as children, and these images appeared in our heads. The film will focus on young protagonists.
— Who is the film for?
— Generations were brought up on the «Midshipmen». But I'm afraid that a very young audience, 14+, has other interests today. Those who are over 40 who remember «Vivat, midshipmen!» will go.
— The plot concerns the annexation of Crimea to Russia in the 18th century and the then attempts by European politicians to break this union. Filmed after the return of the peninsula. Coincidence?
— Of course, there is a roll call, and I think Svetlana Sergeevna Druzhinina, the director of the film, partly had this idea in mind: the story goes in circles.
— If there is a project about the events that we are experiencing now, would you like to take part?
— And it will appear. Films about the Great Patriotic War were shot immediately after it ended.
There's a lot going on, we can't filter out the really important stuff. Now there is documentary. But a little time will pass, and it will turn out: here is an example of a hero, here is a landmark story — something on which you can create film material.
— It has become a habit to divide events into “before February 2022” and after. Has much changed for you?
— Of course. I didn't cry that McDonald's left and we don't show Disney movies. But on the other hand, brains have changed.
I am a pro-Putinist and I understand all the difficulties that are associated with the NWO. I think I understand why it is called that, and not «war». And what separates us from the collapse of the world.
“God forbid that we hear “Get up, the country is huge”. I'm afraid of this song. Then it will be possible to say that everything has really changed. But I hope the world holds.
