In Moscow, Deputy Minister of Digital Development Maxim Parshin was detained in a case of a particularly large bribe (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code), Interfax reports.
State Duma deputy from United Russia Alexander Khinshtein wrote in his telegram channel that Parshin was detained the day before, on July 12, in one of the capital's restaurants at the time of receiving a bribe of 3.5 million. The money, according to the parliamentarian, he received for helping to allocate grants.
The Investigative Committee asks to arrest the official. The case card was registered with the Basmanny District Court of Moscow. The Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that its employees «provide assistance to law enforcement agencies in connection with the investigation.»
Maxim Parshin has been Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development since August 2018. Prior to that, he worked at the Ministry of Economic Development and the Russian Post.
