MOSCOW, July 12 Sokol KV-2 rescue suit, in which actress Yulia Peresild flew to the International Space station, appeared on a single portal of products and components of the rocket and space industry on the Glavkosmos website.
«We offer to purchase: the Sokol KV-2 spacesuit, made specifically for a member of the Soyuz MS-19 prime crew, actress Yulia Peresild, to shoot a feature film on board the ISS as part of the Challenge science and education project,» the announcement page says.
The cost is not specified, but you can leave a request on the site. It is noted that the suit was used in space. The condition of the item is rated as perfect. It can be used as a museum exhibit or for a private collection, as well as a prop for filming films or advertising, according to Glavkosmos.
The Sokol suits, together with the ship's on-board systems, are needed to ensure the life and working capacity of a space flight participant in the event of a depressurization of the descent vehicle at the most dangerous stages of the flight — during launch and docking, undocking and descent. The spacesuit set, which includes a helmet, headset, gloves and starting boots, weighs approximately 10.5 kilograms. «Radio communication is carried out through a headset equipped with headphones and two microphones. Pressurization of the spacesuit, breathing and ventilation of the astronaut in a depressurized object is provided by supplying oxygen (or gas composed of 40% oxygen and 60% nitrogen) into the helmet,» the announcement says.
A spacesuit made for Peresild's understudy Alena Mordovina can also be purchased.
«The Challenge» is the first feature film shot in space aboard the ISS. As part of the project, on October 5, 2021, the first film crew in history went into orbit: actress Yulia Peresild, director Klim Shipenko and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov. As part of the ground-based filming unit, 53 filming shifts took place, three of them in the Il-76 MDK zero-gravity laboratory aircraft. There were 12 shooting shifts on the ISS. The film was released on April 20.
