ISTANBUL, Jul 15 Entrance to a number of districts in the Turkish province of Sirnak on the border with Syria is banned for two weeks from Saturday in connection with the conduct of a counter-terrorism operation, the provincial authorities announced.
“The entry of citizens into areas … belonging to the “temporary special security zone” is prohibited from July 15 to July 29 inclusive in order to prevent damage to citizens from illegal elements and measures taken against them,” AHaber TV channel quotes provincial government statement.
In particular, the environs of the mountains Judi and Kurtdagi and other areas were classified as a special zone, in total we are talking about 14 zones.
It is noted that the measures were taken in the framework of «prevention of crimes, … violence and any negative situations.»
From time to time, operations are carried out in Shyrnak against militants of the PKK banned in Turkey.
