Ukrainian computers connected to the Internet via Starlink terminals may be more susceptible to cyberattacks from the Russian side. This was stated by the Ukrainian State Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-UA).

According to the experts of this service, the most serious threat allegedly comes from residents of Crimea, former SBU officers who since 2014 in the FSB of the Russian Federation. This is due to the fact that they use computers with Internet access via Starlink. At the same time, these computers are outside the protection perimeter.

The last major cyberattack in Ukraine was reported on July 5th. Then the State Statistics Service stated that due to outside interference, the provision of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with data from the areas of demography, employment, labor migration and the economy was stopped.

Starlink is a satellite network for broadband Internet access in any corner of the earth ball. Since 2018, it has been created by SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk.
