The Sovetsky District Court of Ryazan arrested the former vice-governor of the region Igor Grekov in the case of taking a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code). This is reported by the local edition of MediaRyazan.
As RZN.info writes, the meeting was closed at the initiative of the investigator, who explained this by the fact that not all the circumstances of the case and those involved in it have been established.
According to the prosecution, from 2018 to 2021, Grekov received money from entrepreneurs for assistance in concluding state contracts for the supply of medical equipment. On July 11, a former senator from the Ryazan region, Irina Petina, was arrested in the same case. From 2011 to 2020, she was the Deputy Minister of Health of the region, after which she left for the Federation Council.
Grekov served as Vice Governor of the Ryazan Region from 2017 to 2021. RBC wrote that he left him after the director of MK in Ryazan, Alexandra Bezukladova, came with a sign saying «I'm pregnant» to Vladimir Putin's press conference and asked the president to award Grekov the title of Hero of Russia for allegedly saving people during a fire in the village Zheltukhino in October 2020. The source of the publication said that Bezukladova's request caused irritation in the Kremlin.
