
KRASNODAR, 16 Jul. All social facilities in the Tuapse district of the Krasnodar Territory, which were damaged by the rain, have been restored, Governor of the region Veniamin Kondratyev said during a meeting following the inspection of the flooded areas of the district.
During this week, heavy precipitation fell twice in the Tuapse region. 13 settlements were affected by the first blow of the elements on Wednesday night. Water entered the territory of 650 households, including 290 houses. Social facilities of two villages turned out to be in the flood zone — a school and a kindergarten in Novomikhailovsky, as well as a school in Tyumensky, the press service of the regional administration adds.
«We must eliminate the consequences of the disaster as soon as possible. The social facilities of the Tuapse district have already been restored. Now we have to return the water supply within a day. Where the houses are dried, there should be electricity in the coming days. Commissions need to be as quickly as possible conduct rounds — people are waiting for help,» Kondratyev's press service said.
It is noted that all camps and health resorts of the Nebugsky settlement of the district are supplied with water. Specialists completed construction and installation work at the water conduit section in the Raduga camp. The power supply is working properly.
On Saturday, Novomikhailovskoye settlement was again flooded due to heavy rainfall. The Nechepsukho River overflowed its banks, as a result, more than 500 households were flooded, water entered 150 houses. Two pedestrian bridges and two conduits were destroyed. Work to restore life support in the affected area continues.
Earlier, Kondratyev noted that in order to prevent flooding in the Tuapse region, regular cleaning of river beds is necessary, as well as the creation of a system of storm collectors and drainage channels. In addition, according to the governor, the cadastral services should warn potential buyers that the housing being purchased is located in a flood zone.
