MOSCOW, Jul 17 Ukraine violates the Vienna Convention about diplomatic relations, recruiting mercenaries through their embassies abroad, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in response to a question from the International Affairs magazine.
“The activities of Ukrainian embassies in a number of states recruiting citizens of these states and foreigners to participate in hostilities against Russia grossly violate the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” Zakharova wrote.
She noted that these actions violate the laws of some states, since in many of them the recruitment of mercenaries is criminally punishable. Zakharova stressed that Russia's attempts to draw attention to this circumstance were unsuccessful.
