
MOSCOW, Jul 18The Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Krasnodar Territory has launched an investigation into cases of acute intestinal infection in children in the Tuapse region of the Territory, the press service of the regional department told reporters.
«Upon receipt of information about cases of acute intestinal infection among children aged 11-16 in the Tuapse district of the Krasnodar Territory, the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Krasnodar Territory immediately launched an epidemiological investigation,» the message says.
The department noted that in the catering unit of the hotel where the children were placed, samples of food, drinking water were taken, swabs were taken from environmental objects, and biomaterial from the victims was selected for research. Rospotrebnadzor specialists are taking a set of anti-epidemic measures, the cause of the incident is being established, the department added.
«Please note that the water recreation areas of the Shepsi village, where the minors were, did not fall into the flooding zone of the Tuapse district. The situation remains under the control of the department,» the Rospotrebnadzor concluded.
