KRASNODAR, 19 Jul.A resident of Krasnodar, who killed a man in order to take possession of his Lada Granta car and pay off debts, received 18 years in a strict regime colony, the press service of the Kuban courts reported.
Sergey Yurikov was charged under paragraph «h» of part 2 of article 105 (murder for mercenary motives) and paragraph «c» of part 4 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery with causing grievous bodily harm to the victim).
It was established that the accused worked part-time repairing cars, without having a permanent development, he accumulated debts. In December 2022, in order to improve his financial situation, Yurikov decided to kill the seller of the Lada Granta car and take the car for himself. The seller turned out to be a 30-year-old resident of the village of Novotitarovskaya, he came to the NST «Lekraspromovets» to Yurikov's workshop. Yurikov attacked the seller, hitting him with a sledgehammer at least four times on the head, and then strangled him. He stole a car, packed the corpse in plastic bags and buried it on the outskirts of the village, and threw the sledgehammer and the dead man's phone on the shore of the reservoir.
“The court sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 18 years to be served in a strict regime colony, with restriction of freedom for a term of 1 year,” the report says.
It is noted that the defendant pleaded guilty and repented, noting that «it still will not return a person.» In addition to the confession of the defendant, his guilt was established by the totality of the evidence examined in the case. The verdict has not entered into force.
