The Federal Air Transport Agency notes that since March 2022, in connection with the established sanctions policy of a number of foreign states, it has been systematically working to transfer foreign-made aircraft operated by Russian air carriers to the Russian register. The work on re-registration is carried out on the basis of the norms of international and Russian legislation, the agency emphasizes.
At the same time, work is underway to exclude ships from foreign registers. Due to constant interaction and work with foreign administrations to remove ships from foreign registries, including as a result of their purchase by airlines or by agreement with lessors, 186 aircraft previously included in foreign registries have exclusively Russian registration. The work on removing aircraft from foreign registries continues, the agency adds.
«It should be noted that the aircraft fleet of Russian airlines is also replenished with domestic aircraft. In 2022 and the first half of 2023, 132 domestic-made aircraft (43 aircraft and 89 helicopters) intended for commercial transportation were registered in the State Register of Civil Aircraft of the Russian Federation,» the report says.
