A third suspect has appeared in the case against the author of the telegram channel «Kremlin Laundress» — the investigation asks to send him to a pre-trial detention center

A new suspect, Denis Savinsky, has appeared in the case against the author of the telegram channel “Kremlinskaya laundress”, the investigation asks to take him into custody. This was reported to Mediazona by the press service of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow.

The meeting on choosing a measure of restraint for Savinsky will be held today — he is charged with extortion (point «b» of part 3 of article 163 of the Criminal Code). The press service also reported that the person involved in the case works as a translator at Veteran LLC.

Earlier, in this case, Mikhail Polyakov, the administrator of the Kremlin laundress telegram channel, and Alexander Sanin, the general director of the PSK Heritage company, were sent to the pre-trial detention center. According to investigators, the defendants in the case extorted 40 million rubles from the management of Lanit JSC for deleting negative posts and comments on the Telegram channel.

The press service of the Tverskoy Court also wrote that in the period from 2020 to 2023, Polyakov, who is also the deputy director of the ANO Directorate of the World Youth Festival, received money from IT companies associated with Lanit JSC, promising in response to “negative block«. The information that he threatened to publish could “cause significant harm to the rights and legitimate interests of JSC Lanit”; and the management of JSC Lanit,» the press service said.

Polyakov's arrest became known on July 14. The 112 Telegram channel and RBC called the man “an ex-colonel of the FSB” in the news about the detention. «Important stories» also said that Polyakov headed the service for the protection of the constitutional order of the FSB in Moscow and the region. “Polyakov oversaw the network of pro-Kremlin telegram channels on the instructions of the presidential administration, and also carried out orders from the Moscow City Hall,” the publication said. The channel often featured derogatory posts about oppositionists and photos from searches in politically motivated cases. In particular, it published materials about the anarchist Azat Miftakhov, convicted in the case of a broken window in the United Russia office, as well as about politician Alexei Navalny and his associates Maria Pevchikh, Leonid Volkov, Vladimir Milov.
