During a traditional conversation with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was unable to talk about Vladimir Putin's plans for the day, although he had previously announced some events with the president's participation. Peskov's words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“A regional trip is planned. For obvious reasons, we do not announce regional trips now, we do not tell in advance about places to visit. We will do this today during the day,” Peskov said.
The day before it became known that Putin decided not to personally participate in the BRICS summit, which will be held in South Africa — this country recognizes the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which issued a warrant for the arrest of the Russian president because of the war in Ukraine. Instead of Putin, the Russian delegation to the summit will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
