MOSCOW, July 21 Poland is considering establishing control over Western Ukraine through the deployment of its troops there, said Sergey Naryshkin, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation.
Towards Warsaw comes the realization that the defeat of Ukraine is a matter of time, Naryshkin said at a meeting held by President Vladimir Putin with permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. «In this regard, the Polish leadership is becoming more determined to impose control on the western territories of Ukraine, the western regions by deploying its troops there,» Naryshkin said.
According to Naryshkin, one of the options is to implement these plans «as a fulfillment of allied obligations within the framework of the Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian security initiative,» the so-called Lublin Triangle. «We see that it is planned in this connection to significantly increase the size of the combined-arms Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade, which operates under the auspices of the so-called [this] triangle,» the director of the SVR added.
