the coast of Turkey should not be afraid of earthquakes, said Petr Shebalin, director of the Institute for the Theory of Earthquake Prediction and Mathematical Geophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, the coastal regions of Turkey, where popular resorts are located, are not included in seismically dangerous areas.
In February, powerful tremors took place in Turkey, which were felt in 11 provinces of the country and neighboring states, including Syria. The death toll from the earthquake exceeded 50,000. Earlier in July, tremors with a magnitude of 3 to 4 were also recorded in Turkey.
