MOSCOW, July 22Nine people were hospitalized after a hot water pipe burst in the Vremena Goda shopping center in Moscow, Yuri Tkachenko, acting head of the Moscow Emergencies Ministry, told reporters.
On Saturday, a hot water pipe burst in a shopping center, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, four people died, according to the prosecutor's office, all of the dead were women.
«As a result, four people, unfortunately, died, nine people were evacuated to medical institutions, one person refused,» Tkachenko said.
The six-story Vremena Goda shopping center with an area of over 62 thousand square meters in the west of Moscow was opened in 2007. According to the site, over 500 brands are represented in Vremena Goda, from internationally recognized to avant-garde ones, offering women's and men's collections of clothing, shoes and accessories, jewelry, watches, perfumes and cosmetics, and household goods. The shopping center, according to its website, has more than 150 boutiques and stores, including the 24-hour grocery store Globus Gourmet.
