From a nurse in Tbilisi to the main healer and psychic of the Soviet Union: how Juna became a star

Evgenia (real name of a psychic. — Ed.) Yuvashevna Davitashvili was born on July 22, 1949 in the village of Urmia, Krasnodar Territory. According to legend, she manifested the gift of healing in early childhood. The future celebrity spoke hernia, healed wounds and relieved headaches.
After graduating from the railway technical school, she was assigned as a nurse in a hospital in Tbilisi. According to other sources, Juna worked as a barmaid for some time. In 1980, the healer moved to Moscow. According to her, thanks to her extraordinary abilities, she soon found herself in a specially organized laboratory at the polyclinic of the USSR State Planning Committee.
Arkady Raikin, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Vysotsky and influential officials came to her for treatment.
Juna also received patients in her apartment on the Arbat. It was difficult to get to her. Largely because of the price tag, which was higher than the average salary in the country. The healer explained the high cost of her work by the fact that she even took on complex, and sometimes incurable diseases. According to the woman, she helped to defeat cancer, cirrhosis of the liver, tuberculosis, hepatitis and AIDS.
Juna Davitashvili treated with the help of her hands. According to her, through them she directed her energy to the patient, after which all ailments went away.
Many of the healer's patients said they experienced heat or light tingling during the sessions. They thanked her and admitted that they began to feel better. For example, actor Arkady Raikin claimed that he had ceased to suffer from high blood pressure.
It is believed that Juna was able to see into the future. From accurate predictions, the words about the collapse of the USSR, the death of Igor Talkov, the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the victory of Boris Yeltsin and a number of others came true.
Crowds of fans and the tragedy of the son: mysticism in Juna's personal life
Little is known about Juna's personal life. She did not advertise her, which always attracted the media.
Journalists attributed novels to the psychic with politicians, actors, musicians, in particular with singer Igor Talkov. However, Juna herself admitted that she treated the performer like a brother.
In her youth, the future celebrity met the official Viktor Davitashvili, whom she married. In 1975, the couple had their only son, Vakhtang, who was affectionately called Vakho.
Juna soon divorced her husband, and in 1980 she moved to Moscow with her son.
A few years later, the psychic decided to remarry. The next spouse of the healer was Igor Matvienko, who was then little known. They married in 1986 and their union only lasted 24 hours.
After the incident, the psychic no longer married.
In 2001, a tragedy happened in Juna's life. Under mysterious circumstances, Vakhtang died. According to the official version, he died due to injuries received as a result of a terrible accident a few days earlier. Juna herself later claimed that her son was killed and she even knew who. dth=»600″ data-crop-height=»592″ data-source-sid=»rian_photo» title=»Psychic Juna Davitashvili» class=»lazyload» width=»1920″ height=»1894″ decoding=»async» />
According to Stanislav Sadalsky, in addition to his son Vakhtang, Davitashvili also had a daughter. The actor said that the healer dreamed of a boy and got angry when a girl was born. She allegedly wished the child death, he turned black before her eyes and stopped breathing. Juna could not forgive herself for what happened for a long time.
A good psychologist: who did not believe in Juna's abilities
After Juna became popular, her abilities were repeatedly called into question by scientists. Witnesses of the checks claimed that the ability of a psychic to heal with his hands was not proven in any research institute in the country. They agreed that Juna was more likely to be able to convince and was a good psychologist.
One of the most popular legends about a celebrity was the story of the miraculous healing of Leonid Brezhnev, told by herself. At the same time, the former commandant of the Secretary General's dacha, Oleg Storovov, said that he had never seen Juna. Moreover, he claimed that the politician could not stand psychics.
The biography of the healer was rich in other details. For example, she claimed that Pope John Paul II gave her the radius of Jesus Christ.
According to Juna's critics, she did not have a personal meeting with the pontiff — she simply greeted him with a handshake during a tourist trip and took a photo. According to media reports, the paintings were not created by Juna herself, but by students of the Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts. She only put her signature on the canvases.
Shortly before her death, the psychic was asked about her work, but she refused to comment.
Juna passed away in June 2015, at the age of 66. She was buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery in Moscow next to her beloved son Vakhtang.
After the healer's death, many began to say that her grave should not be approached. Eyewitnesses claimed that a red cloth sometimes appears out of nowhere near the tombstone and the face of a woman with long hair hovers above it. Others have claimed to have observed a glow around Juna's resting place.
