DONETSK, July 22 Russian volunteer fighters in the Zaporozhye direction destroyed the command and observation post of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the deputy commander of the Tsarskie Wolves brigade said, providing the relevant video footage.
He clarified that the events took place in the Orekhov area in the second week of July. According to the volunteer, a group of reconnaissance «Bars-1» figured out the transport of the enemy, which did not comply with the camouflage measures when moving.
«The UAV operators promptly handed over the coordinates of the command and observation post to the mortar battery of a volunteer detachment. The mortar crew destroyed the command and observation post, personnel and vehicles of the enemy,» the source said.
The Orekhovskoye direction remains one of the most difficult. The day before, Vladimir Rogov, head of the Zaporozhye public movement «We are with Russia,» reported that the Russian military had repelled an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine there, in which, in addition to infantry, armored vehicles, including tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, were used.
The Ukrainian counter-offensive in the Yuzhnodonetsk, Artyomovsk and Zaporozhye directions began on June 4. Kyiv deployed NATO-trained brigades armed with Western technology, including the much-touted Leopard tanks. As Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu stated on July 11, the enemy did not achieve his goals in any direction. At the same time, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeded 26 thousand soldiers, 1244 tanks and thousands of other equipment, 21 aircraft and six helicopters.
Against the background of the lack of success of the Ukrainian troops, the Western media stated that Kiev had stopped throwing large units and Western equipment into battle. In turn, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed the opinion that the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be instantaneous, but will go on «for a much larger number of months». -title=»Medical assistance was provided to 12 residents of Crimea after the drone attack»>
