MOSCOW, July 24 Asia and the EAEU countries, offering, among other things, electronics and household appliances, reported on the online platform.
«Goods from abroad have appeared on the marketplace. Cooperation with foreign sellers will allow the site to expand the range of goods and introduce customers to new brands that were not previously available in Russia. In test mode, stores from Asia and the EAEU countries appeared on the showcase, which offer electronics, household appliances and household goods,» they said.
It is noted that customers will be able to purchase goods directly from manufacturers without the involvement of intermediaries, which reduces prices for buyers. At the same time, delivery of orders will take from 7 days, depending on the location of the seller and the buyer.
«By the end of the year, Market plans to attract up to 1,000 sellers from China, Turkey, South Korea and the EAEU countries. First of all, the marketplace will focus on stores that offer a unique assortment in the categories of electronics, household goods, cars, beauty and health, clothing and footwear, including accessories,» the company added.
Ksenia Soshnikova, director of the marketplaces department at the Kaktus e-commerce platform, said that in the current economic realities, as well as intensifying competition for the buyer, the turn of online stores towards expanding the product offer through accessible and loyal foreign players looks absolutely adequate.
«For example, the trade turnover between Russia and China in the first half of 2023 increased by almost 41% compared to the same period in 2022. Whether the story with international sellers will be successful in the long run, whether it will be possible to set up optimal logistics routes and get into the needs and demands of buyers — time will tell, at the moment the prospects look quite optimistic,» she added.
Other major domestic marketplaces are also developing internationally. For example, in July, Ozon launched sales of goods from Russia in Armenia. The site has been developing business in the CIS since 2021 and already has its own logistics infrastructure in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Wildberries, in addition to Russia, works in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Israel and Uzbekistan.
