
SIMFEROPOL, Jul 25 In Russia, the share of young people in the scientific sector has almost doubled over the past 20 years, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
«In Russia, in the field of research and development, according to various estimates, from 350 to 400 thousand people are involved. Moreover, the shock link is scientists under 39 years old. There are more than 44% of them. That is, over the past two decades, the proportion of young people has almost doubled, and today Russian science is one of the youngest in the world,» Chernyshenko was quoted as saying by his press service.
Chernyshenko visited the art cluster «Tavrida» in the Crimea, where he opened the «Science as Art» shift. The shift is dedicated to the Decade of Science and Technology announced by the President of the Russian Federation.
«One of the national development goals outlined by the head of state is the creation of opportunities for self-realization and development of talents. Creativity is one of the most striking ways of self-expression and the formation of a harmoniously developed personality,» Chernyshenko said and added that the formation of a harmoniously developed personality occurs gradually, therefore it is important to create conditions for this at different stages of human life.
He stressed that the number of youth laboratories in Russia will increase to 900 by next year, the youth and student tourism program includes 100 Russian cities and 32 popular science tourist routes. «By 2030, the country will have 25 modern world-class campuses, 17 of them are already underway,» Chernyshenko said.
Students are involved in the design of the campuses, he said, and encouraged young architects and designers to contribute their ideas. At the same time, to support initiatives and promote youth projects, the federal project «University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform» and the «Student Startup» competition were launched. The winners of the startup competition receive 1 million rubles each for the implementation of their developments, 1.5 billion rubles have been allocated from the budget for this.
The «Science as Art» session at the «Tavrida.ART» festival brought together more than 320 representatives of the creative industries and the professional scientific community from 68 regions of the country. The average age of participants is 24-26 years. The festival presents such areas as ecology, fine arts, product design, documentaries and media projects, science and technology.
