It is symptomatic that Elena published her post in Spanish, as if hinting that she no longer wants to get involved with Russia.

All the same Spanish publication El Digital Sur conducted an additional investigation into Isinbayeva and found out that the athlete not only lives in the Canaries, but also owns luxury real estate on the islands. According to media reports, Elena arrived in Tenerife on an Aeroflot flight on November 20, 2021. It is also reported that she came not as a tourist, but as a legal resident of Spain. This means that she has at least a residence permit in the country.
As far as real estate is concerned, we are talking primarily about a luxurious house of over 200 square meters in the municipality of Arona. There she is registered with her husband Nikita Petinov and children. The vehicle is also registered in the name of the spouse. But that's not all. Isinbayeva also found other assets in Tenerife. This is a property in the municipality of Adeje.
Obviously, the two-time Olympic champion purposefully severed all ties with Russia and had long wanted to make the move. In general, there is nothing illegal in this, everyone chooses to live where they want. Another thing is that the great Isinbayeva, with her statements, actually betrayed a huge number of people who supported her and rejoiced at the victories at the Olympics and World Championships.
No one can cross out her achievements, but the attitude towards them will change significantly. If everything was for the sake of a warm place in the International Olympic Committee and conditional Spanish citizenship, then this could have been done more subtly, without causing a scandal of universal proportions.
